Hey, let me tell you about this interview, point out some neat art, and then pontificate aimlessly until I just sort of peter out.

Regine at WMMNA has an interesting interview with Vuk Cosic, ASCII and net.art legend. I recommend checking out his history of art for airports, it's really witty.

And the final question, "how can a museum or gallery buy a piece that's available for anyone to see on the internet? How can its value be estimated?" runs parallel to a semi-rhetorical question I have about great libraries. When all manuscripts are digital files with no "original", how will one library differentiate itself from another? Seems like ultimately less of a problem for museums, but the impact of the digital age on collections is growing.

All I need is a list of metal buildings.

LED Throwies are small LED lights attached to a battery and a magnet. They will shine for up to two weeks, providing a non-permanent way to spice up the city. Here's how to make them for about a buck a piece. Who's in? We can hit up the Caltrans District 7 Headquarters.
